Podiatry is a medical discipline which deals with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the foot and related lower limb disorder.
Podiatrists do a lot more than look after the basics. We are uniquely qualified to detect the early stages of diseases that exhibit warning signs in the lower extremities, diseases such as, diabetes, arthritis and cardiovascular disease among others. We care for and manage foot conditions which may pose as an ongoing threat to a patient’s overall health.
At Midleton Foot Clinic we deal with all aspects of foot care up to and including surgical interventions. We are staffed by a multidisciplinary team and all of our clinicians are qualified to Degree level or equivalent and are listed either with the Department of Health or Children, or registered with the Health Professions Council (UK) or both.
Previously referred to as chiropody, Podiatry is the term used internationally, and better reflects our modern degree level of clinical training and practice.
